The sound is inspired by the classic Urei 1176 compressor for studio recording, but now it's more compact and has new features. Controls that were only available on high-end studio compressors, such as input/gain reduction level LED meters, independent attack and release controls, parallel compression using the MIX knob, and an external side chain, are condensed into a pedal-sized unit. The MKII also features a Tilt tone EQ control and an adjustable sidechain high-pass filter on top of the compression detection circuit.
